St Leonard's C.E. Primary School

Our new representatives:

Well done to Elsey and Oscar who are our new school councillors. Well done to our runner up Jennie who is going to be our Inclusivity representative. She is going to work closely with Mrs Dempsey making sure our sports at St Leonard’s are inclusive!

Orienteering:

Our P.E this term is Orienteering and Fitness. We have enjoyed completing orienteering actitvities in our fabulous Forest School. We learnt the importance of working in a team.

Science

Our Science topic is Light. We have enjoyed our practical lessons where we have made periscopes!

We also completed a practical investigation on refraction where we were shocked to see that a drawn arrow can change direction when water is place infront of it!

We were also shocked to see our drawings disappear when we looked through the side of a glass when a saucer was placed ontop. This was because the light was blocked which stopped the image being refracted!

British values week:

We enjoyed British Values week where we discussed which is the most important British value to us.

During British values week we all had to write speeches and share why we would be the best School Councillors. In 5SI nearly every child in the class wrote and read fantastic speeches. It was very difficult to vote for a winner!!!!

Art:

In our Art lessons we are looking at Sculptures. Our aim by the end of the term is to create a Anglo-Saxon brooch. We really enjoyed looking at clay and sculpting it into different shapes.
