"Enjoying Success"

We have used Ipads to support our Maths learning when solving problems and for time tables practice!

In Maths this half term we have used our knowledge of place value to support our calculations. We have enjoyed using column method to add and subtract. We have also been working hard to practise our times tables.

During PE this half term we have been learning gymnastics and building our stamina in cross country running.

In Science this half term we have been exploring Forces and Magnets. We have thought about the types of contact forces used when playing with PE equipment. We have also carried out practical experiments using magnets, investigating which materials are magnetic and whether magnets will attract objects through other materials. It has been great fun!

This half term 3CW have LOVED learning about the Romans and how soldiers used to prepare themselves for war during the rebellion. We made our own Roman shields and practised getting into formations.

In Art this half term we have been designing and sculpting with clay to make Roman busts. Take a look at some of our finished masterpieces!

In Forest school we have had a fantastic time! We have completed art and well-being sessions, built bug hotels and linked activities to our Romans and Celts Topic by building  roundhouses and Hadrian’s Wall. We even made our own obstacle course!

This half term we took part in the Big Draw festival, we had to think about how we wanted to make a change to our world. We considered how we wanted to help our environment before designing our own pieces or art work using nature as a stimulus. We decided to create leaf paintings using bright colours and printing.
